Photoshop 5.5 file flattens when opened in PS7???

Is there any way to stop this from happeneing? It also stays flat so when I open the file back in 5.5 it is flat. What is going on with that?

Steve,

5.5 PSD’s open fine in 7.0 the most you should need to do is update the text layers. Are you sure that you are saving it from 5.5 with layers?
