I need to record several large size single layer images (~ 20K x 10K)on DVD-R

I’m interested to know wich .TIFF file save option give the best compatibility between the various image editing programs and operating systems (mac, linux, Win etc.. The goal is to have a DVD-R packed of images that can be readed and used in the widest range of situation possible.

The saving options are:
– Image compression: None, Lzw, Zip
– Byte order: Ibm Pc, Mac
– Save Image Pyramid: yes or no

I can apply No compression for most of them, but I need to reduce the size for the largest one in lossless mode.

An alternative way is to avoid .Tiff compression and Zip the image.

I’m looking forward for your opinion, thanks.

uncompressed

Byte order shouldn’t matter anymore.

And very few applications read the image pyramid.
