error under Photshop 6

I installed PS 6 and upgraded to 7 but everytime I want to luanch 6. I get the following error:

"could not initialize photoshop becuase the file is locked. Use the "properties" command in windows explorer to unlock the file"

Check to see if the photoshop.exe file is read only.
