saving files in CS that were created in photoshop 7 problems

This is a bug i found in CS. If you open a file created in photoshop 7 in CS as go to save as and save the file it will not add the .psd file extension so the next time you go to open that file you will not be able to. windows comes up with a dialog box asking what application to open the file with. If you then choose CS it will say that it cannot open the file.

The solution is to either rename the file after you have saved it and add the .psd extension which will make it work, or when you are saving it type in the .psd at the end of the file name.

I cannot reproduce that behaviour here – suggest you try deleting your prefs file as per instructions in the FAQ
