The "Save for Web" (SFW) is just a great feature, but I think it misses one important thing: a sharpen filter. I often rescale (pixel dimensions) my images for using with the web, so I use the SFW for it. But after rescaling them down, the imagens need to be sharpened and the SFW dialog box doesn´t have a sharpen filter.
So I have to save my image for the web and reopen it just to sharpen it and save again over it. That´s a not a good idea with jpgs… What do you guys think about it? Am I missing something?

Thank you,
Ricardo Borges

Try adding Unsharp Mask as the last step after resizing and using Save For Web. That’s what I do. You can even incorporate it into an action or batch process. But make sure to save the image in it’s uncompressed format prior to adding Unsharp Mask.

Resize first, then Sharpen, then SFW.

Or do it all in a "Jump to ImageReady" workflow.

I just read my reply and realized I forgot the word "before" Save For Web. It’s one thing to think it and another to type it.

I have a workflow article at:

Ricardo,

CS has a new resampling mode ‘Bicubic Sharper’ which is intended for this purpose. You choose it as a ‘preference’ or as each image is resampled.

Thank you guys for your replys.
But "CS" means in the Ken Storch message? Is it a plug-in?
