Hiya. A while ago while I was trying to open Photoshop, it gave me a random error which I thought was just a simple error and restarting would get rid of it. I was about to leave my house anyway, so when I came back and tried opening Photoshop again, it gave me the same error which follows:

PHOTOSHP caused an invalid page fault in
module KERNEL32.DLL at 016f:bff7a388.

After a while, I decided to uninstall and install Photoshop to see if that would work and it didn’t. I looked on the web and tried that suggestion of moving the files from the System/Color folder to another folder and that didn’t work either. I tried installing Photoshop 6 and it does the same, it’s really getting annoying. I seriously don’t want to format my whole drive just for that problem.

If any of you could help me, I’d be super glad. Thanks a lot in advance. =]

First, try deleting your prefs file – Details in the FAQ at the top of this forum list. Un-install/Re-install wouldn’t delete it for you.

If that doesn’t help, it may be a bad driver,(mouse, video, printer etc.)

Sorry I can´t help you. I am also searching to solve a similar problem:

Entry point SMapLS_IP_EBP_20 not found in Kernel32.dll.

Bye

I tried deleting the prefs files…but it still does it. I’m not sure how the mouse drivers would be the problem. Also, everything worked fine, and all of the sudden it started doing it. Do you have anymore suggestions, I’d like to hear them and try them out. =]

Either you have a buggy driver, or you have a corrupt OS install.

Vic – then I don’t know what to tell you. The problem is with your machine, not Photoshop.

did you rerun the setup?

Like from windows. Or completely from boot up?
