When I make buddyIcons like this one, this is how it always turns out. I would like to make it better. Any suggestions? I’ve seen some pretty nice ones but I have no clue what program they use. Maybe its something other then photoshop.

What is it worth to you to find out?

You might try tweening between each frame, set the tween to two frames, at a
0.1 second transition time. ALT-drag the first frame and place it (the
dragged copy) as the last frame. Set the transition for the first frame and new (identical) last frame to 1 second to keep in time with the rest of the animation. . Doing this, the file size increases to 22 KB. Not a big deal with today’s Internet speeds.

Alternatives include placing the images in the same layer in a horizontal line. Then tween the first image to scoot to the left (or right) to the next image and stop for 2 seconds as it currently does. Then this image will scoot to the next one and stop, then to the last one and stop. Again, it might be wise to ad a copy of the first image to the end of the sequence and set both image times to 1 second.

The other major animation program is Flash.

I manipulated your buddy icon in the methods described earlier:

Here’s link to an unfinished tutorial I made a while ago. At the bottom of the second link are links to some ImageReady animations I made. Lesson 4 is fun. Please use Internet Explorer since much of the site uses Dynamic HTML and layers. Netscape displays layers poorly.
