Yes it is. You’re not looking in the correct place. I have Win 2K on one computer and Win XP on the other. Open With is on the right click menu in Windows Explorer. If Photoshop isn’t one of the programs listed, click on the Choose Program option.
1) open Windows Explorer (or My Computer) 2) navigate to a directory that contains images (jpg and gif) 3) press and hold down the SHIFT key and then RIGHT mouse click on an image. 4) You should see a menu and one of the choices should be "Open with" and it will have it’s own menu. One of the options on the Open with menu is "choose program". 5) select the "choose program" option and you will open a dialog box with all the programs on your computer. Scroll down the list of programs until you get to Internet Explorer. Highlight that entry, put a checkmark in the box at the bottom of the dialog box which says "always use the selected program to open files of this type" 6) press OK
Do this for both the jpg and the gif formats.
Once you have done this, all jpg and gif images will open up in Internet Explorer.
